People-Led Marketing

get your affiliates to *actually* promote ✨

Hey hey!

I've been feeling super inspired after getting back to my email list after a little hiatus. Thank you to everyone who's still here with me—especially if you replied to my last email! 💛

In case you missed it: in my last email, I answered the question: "I don't know where to start - what are the steps to set-up an affiliate program?"

But once you've got your program going and onboarded some affiliates, that's when another issue can strike.

"I have affiliates who signed up but they're not promoting anything - how do I get them to actually share my offers?"

This is such a common affiliate program frustration. You've done all the work to set up your program, people have enthusiastically joined, and then... nothing happens.

But affiliates suffer from writer's block too, y'know? 🙈

Even your most excited supporters might be struggling with:

  • Not knowing exactly what to say about your offer
  • Feeling overwhelmed trying to fit promotions into their content
  • Simply forgetting they signed up (we're all busy humans!)

The secret to activating your sleeping affiliates isn't about pressuring them—it's about making it ridiculously easy for them to share.

Here are my top three ways to do this:

  1. Provide ready-to-use swipe copy: Give them emails, social posts, and stories they can copy, paste, tweak, and share. The less work they have to do to get started, the more likely they'll share!
  2. Stay in touch with your top affiliates: When you're planning a promotion, don't be afraid to drop into the DMs of your best affiliates and ask if they are happy to share. If they are, you can provide them with their affiliate link and some quick swipe copy directly so they have everything they need right away!
  3. Run a 'Make One Sale' push: Challenge your affiliates to focus on making just ONE sale—which is usually a very do-able goal—with a prize or bonus when they do just that.

Mostly, what I've learned from working with hundreds of affiliate programs is that engagement isn't an automatic given—it's cultivated through consistent communication, meaningful relationships, and making sharing as effortless as possible.

Warmly,
Zoe 💛
